It’s an exciting time as we celebrate our Graduate of the Year, Haley Yegorov!

Each year, we invite recent graduates from schools like Ashworth College, Penn Foster, and James Madison High School to submit their stories and tell us about their journey to earn their diploma or degree in our Graduate of the Year Contest. We review hundreds of inspirational stories to find our finalists and winners for each school, who are selected by a committee of Penn Foster Group employees and instructors.

It’s that time of year! We’re here to recognize and celebrate our amazing Ashworth College Graduate of the Year finalists! Our five finalists were selected out of nearly 100 submissions from recent graduates. The decision was very difficult, but as you read more about these finalists, you’ll see why they were selected. We are so proud of our finalists–and all of our graduates–for working hard to finish their programs and achieve their goals!

Like many Ashworth students, 2022 Graduate of the Year, Tiffany Whitter, was a working mom looking to advance her career in the elementary and middle school system. As a paraeducator working with children with academic and behavioral challenges, promotion opportunities were coming up, but she didn’t have the credentials needed to fill the roles. Tired of missing out, she made the decision to go back to school to advance her degree and job prospects.

Ashworth College alumni impress and inspire us each year with their spectacular achievements. This year, we received hundreds of Graduate of the Year applications from students who have overcome self-doubt and life’s challenges to find new beginnings and fresh paths to success. Graduate of the Year is an award given to one graduate who shows academic excellence, goal achievement, and drive to make their life, and the lives around them, better. It was hard to choose, but these three students stood out at the top of our list to be named Graduate of the Year Finalists. Here are their stories.
