Whether furthering your education is at the top of your to-do list or something you’ve been putting off, earning an associate degree may open up more opportunities and increase your hiring potential. With Ashworth College, you can earn your associate degree online at your own pace. Here’s how.

What is an associate degree?

An associate degree is an post-secondary degree earned typically after studying for two to three years. Associate degrees help give students skills and knowledge they may need to apply to a career or further education. The four types of associate degrees include

  • Associate of Arts (AA)
  • Associate of Science (AS)
  • Associate of Applied Arts (AAA)
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS)

Associate degree programs also often include general education courses.

How will earning an associate degree help me?

There are many benefits to earning an associate degree. The knowledge gained throughout an associate degree program may give you the tools to succeed in a career. By furthering your education beyond a high school diploma or GED, you’re opening the door to better job prospects and a higher salary. In 2019, those with an associate degree saw a median weekly income of $887 compared to the $746 for those with a high school diploma.

Compared to a bachelor’s degree, associate programs can be completed quicker. Associate degree programs also cost less, leaving graduates with a reduced financial burden. At Ashworth, our flexible, career-focused associate degree programs can be completed online at your own pace.
