Depending on your background and experience, carpenters aren’t necessarily required to go to school to learn the trade before getting a job. However, aspiring carpenters may choose to receive a formal education before entering the field to strengthen their skills and stand out to employers. While a high school diploma is required to be a carpenter, education beyond that is preferred. Beyond an education, an apprenticeship is recommended. So, while it’s not required, you can go to school for carpentry. You can even go to an online carpentry school!
