Are child care classes really necessary?

Nurturing and caring for children is one thing, but laying the proper groundwork for their intellectual growth and academic progress is a different matter. Many studies show that students who are enrolled in a preschool or daycare facility of some kind are better adjusted when they begin kindergarten and are more knowledgeable than their peers who haven’t attended such an establishment.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 32.7 million children participated in some sort of child care arrangement in 2011. Of those kids, 51% were being looked after by an organized facility or non-relative. It’s because of this need for qualified educators that that the Bureau of Labor Statistics expects a 17% increase in preschool and child care careers by 2022 with 74,700 child care careers predicted!
