Are Pharmacy Technician Training Programs Required?

Looking for a successful career in a booming industry? According to the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations, the global pharmaceutical market is expected to reach nearly 1.43 Billion by 2020. New medicine and technology generate greater opportunities to join an ever-evolving industry and land a job in pharmaceuticals. At Ashworth College, you can get the pharmacy technician training needed to kick-start your career in the pharmaceutical industry.

Pharmacy technicians are truly the masters behind the everyday operations of a pharmacy. From supplying medications to patients to managing the medicine supply, without pharmacy technicians, millions of Americans wouldn’t have quick and easy access to medicine.

At Ashworth College, we offer hands-on training with our current partners, CVS and Walgreens. In addition, our online pharmacy technician training courses include all the prep work for taking your pharmacy technician certification exam. Upon graduating, you’ll understand various responsibilities of a pharm tech such as how to prepare prescriptions and assist customers with questions.

Requirements for earning your pharmacy technician certification vary by state, so it’s important to check before completing your certification. For example, if you’re in Iowa you have to first register with the state board then complete your Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam within one year. With Ashworth College’s online pharmacy technician training program, you can complete your pharmacy technician certification process at your own pace and on your own time. If your state has regulations similar to Iowa, you can complete your certification in a timely manner in order to meet your state’s requirements.
