Academics

Ashworth College offers convenient online training and academic programs in popular career fields, specialized trades, and professional disciplines. Our career diploma, career certificate, and degree and college-level programs (including undergraduate certificate, associate degree, and bachelor’s degree programs) are designed for busy adults to be able to learn new skills and further their education in a flexible, affordable, and efficient manner—from home or anywhere in the world.

Your lessons are asynchronous, meaning there are no set log-in times for courses or exams. Study any time and anywhere and complete lessons at your convenience. You can allocate as much time as you need to absorb and truly understand the material, on a schedule that fits your lifestyle.

Some of our courses use only eBooks and online lessons, but others use textbooks, lesson books, workbooks, and/or study guides. We mail your first set of materials within 24 hours of enrollment, by the U.S. postal service or international airmail if you live abroad. You will receive subsequent study materials in a timely manner, based on your rate of completion of assignments and exams, and provided you are current on your monthly tuition.

The foundation of our approach to online education is an instructional team consisting of a highly qualified, dedicated staff of professionals. Each program brings together a tightly woven team of academic advisors, certified faculty, subject matter experts, course authors, and support staff working together to ensure our students achieve their goals and obtain the individual support needed to succeed.

In each course syllabus you will find how to contact to say your particular course instructor or faculty member for any specific help or support you require. Ashworth College provides a superb team of Academic Advisors who work with students. Academic Advisors are available Mon-Fri: 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. by appointment, email, or ticket.

You can schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor here: https://pennfoster.libcal.com/appointments/ashworthcollege?g=16611

If you are a James Madison student, you can email your Advisor through your student portal. If you are a Degree or Career student, you can email the Academic Advisors at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

When contacting an academic advisor for instructional assistance or tutoring, please have your study materials on hand, with the page number(s) or chapters identified. If advanced help is needed, advisors place a request for a subject matter specialist to contact you. Please allow the subject specialist 24 to 48 hours to return your phone call.

No. No one on our support or instructional staff is permitted to assist with course exams or assignments. However, we are available to provide clarification or verification on exam or assignment requirements or the submission process.

Student-initiated assignments are uploaded through your personal Student Portal, graded within one week of submission and returned to you with feedback. Grades are recorded in your personal Student Portal. Some assignments, such as multiple-choice exams, are graded and posted immediately after submission.

Many students find online learning easier than sitting in a classroom. Free from the pressures of pop quizzes and class competition, you can study in a way that suits you best and take the time you need to understand your studies.

You're not alone. Most of our students lead full lives that pull them in multiple directions. For that reason, our curriculum is carefully designed to work with the complicated schedules of adult students of all ages. Rest assured, our dedicated support team is available to assist you with your studies, time management, and any other obstacles that pop up, as we guide you through your program to graduation.

Tuition

Tuition is based on program type. We list the total tuition for career diploma programs and price degree programs per semester. Calculate your total tuition for degree programs as follows:

Degree Program Total # of Semesters Total Program Tuition
Associate Degree Program 4 4 X single semester's tuition
Bachelor's Degree Program 8 8 X single semester's tuition

Tuition may change, so check our website for current tuition costs and fees.

Our 0% interest tuition plan is an attractive alternative to student loans. You may pay in full or spread your tuition into 0% interest monthly payments – and you have the option of choosing the payment that fits your budget.

We keep fees to a minimum. Other than a modest shipping fee for textbooks, lesson books, and study guides, and a small administrative fee, what you need to complete your program is included with your tuition. We ship printed textbooks, workbooks, study guides, and other materials by U.S. Postal Service or international airmail (if you live abroad).

We offer a 'no questions asked' money back policy for students who cancel within the first five (5) days of enrollment. Our cancellation policy requires the parent, legal guardian, or adult student enrolled with Ashworth College to initiate the cancellation procedure. If your enrollment is cancelled after the first five (5) days, you may be entitled to a refund or you may owe the school additional tuition. The number of lessons completed and the tuition paid determines this. Please refer to the Cancellation Policy on the Refund Policy page for more details.

Ashworth College does not accept government funding under the Title IV program. Here's why: We offer some of the most affordable tuition rates available. We do this by not basing our tuition fees on the maximum dollar amount of government loans we can get, but by creating as much flexibility for our students as possible to explore new career opportunities. That means incremental monthly tuition payments, various payment options, and graduating with a degree, not debt. At Ashworth College, we're leveling the playing field for our students in every way we can.

No, students shouldn’t claim their Ashworth tuition payments on their federal or state tax returns. Because we do not participate in the United States Department of Education student aid programs, we are not an eligible institution for students to claim or qualify for various tax credits. With this in mind, we do not send students or graduates 1098 forms or any other paperwork needed for filing your yearly return.
