"The ACCESS Scholarship program was developed to honor Gary Keisling's personal mission of opening the doors of education to the underserved education population of America. We're excited to be presenting these scholarships," said Dr. Leslie Gargiulo, Ph.D., Ashworth College's Chief Academic Officer and Dean of Degree Programs.
Applicants were required to submit an application and an original 250-500 word essay in order to be considered for the ACCESS Scholarship. High school and degree applications had to present past transcripts reflecting a minimum 3.0 GPA or equivalent.
The Ashworth College Continuing Education for Student Success (ACCESS) Scholarship program was founded in 2011 to honor the legacy of the online school's late President and CEO, Gary Keisling. His personal and professional mission was to offer affordable and accessible education to underserved populations who historically have had limited access to educational opportunities or an accredited diploma or degree. The scholarships awards have a combined value of up to $25,000.
For more than 25 years Keisling was regarded as an industry leader and advocate for continuing education. His influence on distance education will continue to benefit students for many years to come. For more information on the ACCESS Scholarship Program visit www.ashworthscholarships.com.
