Graduate Debra Dykes, Jackson, MS, received her Teacher Assisting Diploma at the 2008 Ceremony. For Debra, her diploma represented a major step toward her dream of working in education, specifically with deaf and special needs children. It's a field for which she has a particularly high affinity. Ms. Dykes is deaf herself.

"Graduating from Ashworth definitely has had its advantages," she commented. "For one, I have been able to command more money with my current employer. For another I'm more certain than ever that childhood education is where I am meant to be. I'm looking forward to continuing my education with Ashworth and soon will be perusing an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education."
