Academic Support

What is the Instructional Team approach to learning?

Ashworth’s instructional model is comprised of an instructional team approach. The instructional team includes highly qualified academic advisors, certified faculty, subject matter experts, course authors, and support staff. Ashworth’s team is available to work with students as needs arise. The team approach allows Ashworth to customize support to individual student needs. Each course syllabus provides information on contacting your teacher/instructor/faculty and the Academic Advisor support team. When students have program or course specific questions, they should first review their program or course syllabus to identify their team and contact information. For general program or course questions, e.g. struggling with a general concept, the first step is to call on the Academic Advisor team, see the Contact Information Phone Guide or call 1-800-224-7234.

How do I contact an Academic Advisor?

The Academic Advising team is available Monday-Friday between 8:30AM and 8:30 PM. You can contact an advisor using one of the following routes:

Can I receive assistance on exams or assignments?

Academic Advisors are not permitted to assist with course exams or assignments. They can provide clarity and verify that the question is valid.

What do I need to have to receive tutorial assistance?

When contacting an Academic Advisor for tutoring, please have your materials on hand. Be sure to acknowledge page numbers and concepts that you are struggling with to allow the advisor to better assist you. If advanced help is needed Advisors place a request for a subject specialist to contact you. Please allow the subject specialist 24-48 hours to return your phone call.



What are the Admissions Requirements for Ashworth College?

All Ashworth College students must be at least 16 years of age or, if not, have the enrollment form signed by a parent or legal guardian. Career diploma and certificate courses generally have no prerequisites.

Our undergraduate, associate and bachelor’s degree programs require a high school diploma or GED to enroll. Master’s degree and graduate certificate program students must have at least a bachelor’s degree to enroll. Please submit your high school or college transcript in a timely manner to avoid delays in starting your degree program. If you were homeschooled, please submit a complete portfolio of your work and/or proper documentation. You must include the Home School Form with your portfolio. We offer testing for students who cannot provide a homeschool portfolio.

How do I enroll?

You may complete our online enrollment application or contact an Admissions Advisor by phone at 1-800-957-5412. At the time of enrollment, you will be asked to set up a payment plan and provide a low down payment that fits your budget. If you prefer, you may also pay your program tuition in full at the time you enroll.

Can I enroll if I live outside of the United States?

Of course. Ashworth College welcomes students from around the world. In fact, our online high school is perfect for military families who frequently PCS as well as families that relocate for business reasons.

Will previously earned credits transfer to Ashworth College?

We encourage students who are enrolling in our college degree programs to submit an official transcript from any accredited college or university where they have previously earned credits. Prompt receipt of student transcripts allows us to apply eligible transfer credits in a timely manner. Does Ashworth College have a deadline for enrollment?

No. Flexibility is the hallmark of becoming an Ashworth College student. You may enroll online 24/7 and start class when and where it’s convenient for you. Call 1-800-957-5412 to speak with an Admissions Advisor during business hours, mail your enrollment form to us or enroll online 24/7.

What kind of computer do I need to study online at Ashworth College?

All you need is a computer with Microsoft Office software and the Internet. Once you enroll, you’ll receive access to your personalized Student Portal to immediately begin your first lesson or course.

We recommend these minimum computer requirements:

  • Sound card, microphone, speakers

  • MS Office 2003 or higher (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).

How long will it take to receive textbooks?

Some of our courses are 100% online and use eBooks, but most use textbooks, lesson books, workbooks and/or study guides. Your first set of materials is shipped to you within 24 hours of enrollment. Materials are mailed by the U.S. postal service or international airmail if you live abroad. You will receive subsequent study materials in a timely manner, based on your rate of completion of assignments and exams and provided you are up to date on your monthly tuition.

Is Ashworth College Accredited?

Yes. Ashworth College has built a tradition of excellence that spans more than 25 years. Our online career diploma, certificate and degree programs are accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council which is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency. Will college credits I earn online transfer to other colleges or universities?

Yes! Ashworth College is part of the National Transfer Network, a partnership of prestigious online schools that accepts transfer students from our Associate Degree programs into regionally and nationally accredited bachelor's degree programs. We are happy to submit your college transcripts completed at Ashworth College, directly to your preferred school. You must be an Ashworth College Associate Degree student in good standing, with tuition paid in full, to qualify as a transfer student through our partnership arrangements in the National Transfer Network.

Will the military accept Ashworth College Graduates?

Yes! We are a military-friendly school. Please see the Military section of this website for details.

Will Ashworth College courses fit my schedule?

Yes! Each program is designed to allow you to study anytime and anywhere and complete lessons at your convenience. Relieved from the pressures of deadlines, you can allocate more time to challenging lessons and less time to those lessons in which you excel.

What kind of computer or software is required for online courses?

You’ll need access to a desktop, laptop, netbook or notebook computer loaded with Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer to take your classes. All written assignments and examinations must be submitted as a .doc or .docx file. You’ll submit multiple choice exams online from your personal Student Portal. Currently, mobile operating systems such as Linux, iOS and Android, browsers such as Firefox and Safari and mobile devices like iPads and other tablets and iPods are not officially supported by Ashworth College. We’re working on it!

Student Life

I have been out of school for a long time. Can I handle online study?

Our high quality curriculum is designed to meet the needs of students returning to school and/or juggling multiple priorities (education, career, family, hobbies). Our Academic Advisors, tutors and instructors are available to assist you with your course work and guide you through your program.

How are assignments, exams and grading handled?

Student-initiated assignments are uploaded through your personal Student Portal, graded within one week of submission and returned to you with feedback. Grades are recorded in your personal Student Portal. Some assignments, such as multiple-choice exams, are graded and posted immediately after submission.

How much time is needed to earn a diploma, degree, certificate or certification?

Master’s degree programs are designed to be completed in about 2 years. We allow you up to 5 years from the date of your enrollment to complete your studies and earn your master’s degree.

Graduate certificate programs are designed to be completed in as few as 6 weeks, but you can take up to 2 years to complete your studies and your graduate certificate.

Bachelor’s degree programs are designed to be completed in 4 years. We allow you up to 8 years from the date of your enrollment to complete your studies and earn your bachelor’s degree.

Associate degree programs are designed to be completed in 2 years or less. We allow you up to 4 years from the date of your enrollment to complete your studies and earn your associate degree.

Undergraduate certificate programs may be completed in as few 6 weeks, but you can take up to 2 years to complete your studies and earn your undergraduate certificate.

Career diploma courses are designed to be completed in 6 months or less. We allow you up to 1 year from the date of your enrollment to complete your career course.

Career certificate courses are designed to be completed in 3 months or less. We allow you up to 1 year from the date of your enrollment to complete your career course.

Who will help me if I am having difficulty with my studies?

Ashworth College provides a superb team of Academic Advisors who work with students in every subject on a one-on-one basis. Academic Advisors are available Monday through Friday 9am to 9pm and Saturday from 8:30am to 5pm.

What are the graduation requirements?

You must meet the following requirements to graduate from Ashworth College:

  • Pass all exams
  • Meet all financial obligations by paying off your tuition balance in full
  • Complete at least six months of enrollment at Ashworth College
  • (For degree programs) Earn required course credits as a combination of Ashworth College courses and transfer credits

Does Ashworth College hold graduation ceremonies?

Yes. All Ashworth College graduates are invited to attend our annual graduation ceremony in Atlanta, Georga. The event is festive and filled with camaraderie, where students adorned in caps and gowns receive their diplomas or certificates. Family and friends may also attend to celebrate your accomplishment. NOTE: Your account must be paid in full in order to graduate.

How soon after I graduate will I receive my diploma or certificate?

Your diploma or certificate, and transcript will be mailed within 7 to 10 days of graduation.

How do I request a copy of my diploma or transcript from Ashworth College?

You may request a copy of your Ashworth College transcript using the Transcript Request Form. Contact student services at 1-800-957-5412. Your first transcript is free. Additional transcripts are $5.00 each.

Does Ashworth College offer career assistance?

Yes! Ashworth College offers career resources through our partnership with CareerBuilder®, giving you access to dynamic career preparation and guidance and job search tools such as resume-building templates, interview advice and career self-assessments. You will gain access as you near graduation.



What is the total program tuition cost?

The total program tuition cost is based on the type of program. Career programs list the total tuition cost for that career program. For degree programs we enroll students by semesters. For an Associate’s degree there are four semesters so the total program cost is for four semesters or four times the semester tuition cost. The Bachelor's program is eight semesters so the total program cost is for eight semesters. The Master’s program is three semesters so the total program cost is for three semesters. Tuition may vary over time, so check the website for the most current semester tuition costs.

Do you offer student loans or payment plan?

Our interest-free tuition plan is an attractive alternative to student loans. You’ll never pay finance charges or interest fees, making it easier to graduate debt-free. You may pay in full or spread your tuition into interest-free monthly payments – and you choose the payment that fits your budget. Learn more about our payment options.

Are there any additional fees?

We keep fees to a minimum. Other than a modest shipping fee for textbooks, lessons books and study guides and a small administrative fee, everything you need to complete your program is included with your tuition. We ship printed textbooks, workbooks, study guides and other materials by U.S. postal service or international airmail (if you live abroad). You’ll also receive access to our exclusive online Student Community as you begin your first course.



What is Ashworth College’s cancellation policy?

We understand that not all programs are for all people. That said, we offer a ‘no questions asked’ money back policy for students who cancel within the first 5 days of enrollment. Our cancellation policy requires the parent, legal guardian or adult student enrolled with Ashworth College to initiate the cancellation procedure. If your enrollment is cancelled after the first 5 days, you may be entitled to a refund or you may owe the school additional tuition. What is your Security Policy?

We use industry standard security measures to protect any personal information that you may provide to us. However, we cannot guarantee that your submissions to our website, any content residing on our servers, or any transmissions from our server will be completely secure. Our online Student Help Desk and the online exams can only be accessed using a a valid student ID number. You are responsible for keeping your student number secret and confidential, and for notifying us if you believe that your student number has been stolen or might otherwise be misused.
