Guest Speaker, Dr. Nicole Detling Miller
- When: Saturday, August 7: 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Ashworth instructor, author, motivational speaker, TV guest and Olympic coach, Dr. Nicole Detling Miller, will be a guest speaker at our 2010 graduation ceremony.
Dr. Miller is currently the Chief Instructor and Subject Matter Expert for the School of Sports Psychology at Ashworth College.
In 2010, Nicole served as the official US speed skating team Sports Psychologist for the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. She also appeared just prior to the Games on Stephen Colbert's TV show, The Colbert Report. She helped our athletes overcome any confidence, composure, anxiety and distraction issues that might hinder performance.
"This is what it's all about, isn't it? Graduation is Ashworth's Olympics... where Ashworth students climb up to the podium, accept their distinguished medal of education and be recognized for all their hard-earned accomplishments in front of their peers and family. They have progressively improved their performance, while overcoming obstacles, in order to reach their goal."
Dr. Miller's course, Sport Psychology for Peak Performance, is designed for coaches, trainers, exercise and fitness instructors, recreation directors and athletes who want to improve performance and reach the winner's circle.
