Ashworth College Graduation 2009
Over 800 Ashworth graduates, family and friends from 34 states and three countries attended the 2009 graduation ceremony at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, GA. Each graduate was recognized as they crossed the stage and received their diplomas from F. Milton Miller, Ed.D., Ashworth Vice President, Education. Each graduate was also personally congratulated by Gary M. Keisling, Ashworth College Chairman and CEO.
Celebrity Keynote Speaker
Didiayer Snyder from the Emmy Award-winning Extreme Makeover: Home Edition gave this year's commencement address. Snyder is a two-time Ashworth graduate in carpentry and interior decorating. At the end of her speech, Didiayer made a surprise presentation to Interior Decorating graduate Samantha Cruse, from North Port, FL. She offered Samantha the opportunity to work as an assistant to the design producers on the set of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
CareerBuilder Workshop
For the second year, CareerBuilder.com conducted a workshop for graduates and their guests prior to the ceremony. This year's discussion was facilitated by Eric Newton, CareerBuilder Director of Customer Service, and focused on tips for conducting an effective job search in a down economy.
