To get ahead in today’s job market, many employers require some form of higher education. While this doesn’t diminish the value of your experience, adding a new credential can make the difference between where you’re at and where you want to be. Ashworth College can help you affordably earn qualifications to help you get ahead on your terms.

How can I improve my chance for a promotion?

If you’ve been in a position for a while and feel like you can do more or be more, it might be time to consider returning to school. Adding certifications, certificates, or degrees to your resume can increase your chances of earning a promotion as well as the possibility of a salary increase. Not only does it add valuable knowledge to your skillset, but it also shows your employer that you’re serious about your career and their business. It demonstrates a desire to improve yourself and further contribute to their company, as well as your commitment to both.

How can I earn a degree while working?

The idea of returning to school while working may be intimidating at best, especially when factoring in other commitments like family. Many people worry about how to balance it all and what additional sacrifices they’ll have to make. Ashworth College’s mission is to provide affordable education on your terms. Because everyone’s situations and experiences are different, and no two schedules are alike, all Ashworth classes are 100 percent online and self-paced, meaning you don’t have to choose between your paycheck and your education. You choose when and where you study, so you don’t have to worry about changing work schedules or altering things like childcare plans.

How can I earn a professional certificate?

If you’re already well-established with your current company or job, but are looking to improve your skills and maybe get that promotion you’ve been hoping for, a professional certificate may help you get there. Ashworth College offers a multitude of Career Certificate and Career Diploma options to help you add education and experience on your resume. You can learn new skills, refresh old ones, or enhance current expertise to help ensure you’re at the top of your game.

What is the difference between a certificate and a degree?

If you’re ready to take the next steps towards advancing your career, you’ll need to know which program is best for you. Certificate programs take a shorter time to complete and are generally less expensive than degree programs. They provide a great option if you’ve already got a degree or have a few years of experience under your belt, helping you to gain an edge in a competitive job market. Ashworth offers three certificate options, depending on where you’re at in your career and education level.

  • Career Certificates focus on one subject, helping you to add credentials and skills to your resume.
  • Undergraduate Certificates give you the option of experiencing higher education without the full commitment of a degree program. They have a focused path, and the credits can be transferred to another Ashworth program should you decide to pursue an associate or bachelor’s degree.

Degree programs take more time to complete and cost more money but can offer even more earning potential down the road. There are two different degree options available depending on your needs.

  • Associate Degrees are two-year degrees where you’ll combine general education courses and electives with major subject-specific courses. Consisting of 60 credit hours, an associate degree is a good option if you can’t or don’t want to make the full commitment of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s Degrees are the most common degree types. They, too, are comprised of major-specific courses, with elective and general education credits, but the required 120 credits typically take four years to complete.
