College Admissions Specialist | Web Designer | Web Developer

College Admissions Specialists – Full Time Sales

Ashworth College is expanding its full-time, Admissions Specialist staff, effective immediately. Our school is a nationally accredited university offering high school diplomas, career training, and post-secondary degrees. We are growing fast, with strong marketing and great branding, and we are well known in the for-profit education sector. If you are hired into this important role, you will represent the school to new prospective students and others interested in learning about our programs.

In this front-line sales position you would be responsible for functions critical to the admissions department, including:

• Speaking with prospective students who call Ashworth or who are reached using our predictive dialer. (There are NO cold calls required.)
• Presenting the programs and qualities of Ashworth in a professional manner
• Using an engaging and flexible script, qualify prospective students for the program of their interest, and enroll those who want to proceed
• Maintaining a friendly and positive attitude on the phone
• Motivating prospects to further their education or training with Ashworth
• Using a windows-based PC to enter prospect and enrollment information

We pay our Admission Specialists a base salary of $11.00 per hour, plus bonus when earned – payable every other week. The bonus potential is up to $ 2,000 per month. A two-week, paid training period is required at the base salary. Evening and day shifts available, with all personnel required to work every other Saturday from 9 to 6. We conduct criminal background checks and drug screening tests on all candidates. After successful completion of a 90-day training and probationary period, Admissions Specialists are eligible for our complete package of benefits, which includes a health care insurance plan.

To qualify you must have at least six months of experience selling by phone in a call center environment, with a clear track record of success. Your background must include outbound sales, preferably with a power or predictive dialer. No degree is required, but you must have a strong belief in the importance of education and training as a requirement for success in life. In addition, you must have excellent phone selling skills, outstanding listening and presentation abilities, and great interpersonal relationship skills. The ideal candidate will be motivated by sales experiences, including the bonuses paid for success.

Web Developer

Ashworth College is looking for a web developer with an extensive knowledge of PHP/MySQL, CSS, HTML, XML, JavaScript and CMS. The Web Developer position is responsible for the development, creation, maintenance, and system administration of web site applications, web content and other online projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop new features and support existing features for family of school web sites.
• Work closely with the web team and marketing to ensure successful implementation and delivery of projects.
• Content updates and maintenance to web site.
• Email campaign set up, delivery and monitoring through email cms.
• Debug and fix issues with PHP/MySQL, CSS, HTML, Javascript codes and conform to current web standards.
• Administration of an Apache/Linux web server, configuration, virtual hosting, log monitoring, and security.
• Administration and utilization of versioning software.
• Analyze requirements for, design, and implement modular systems and templates.
• Provide reliable and accurate time estimates for tasks.
• Work quickly and efficiently.
• Document systems thoroughly, in terms of code, design and implementation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years experience in web development
• Hands-on XHTML, DHTML, XML and CSS coding proficiency
• Experience working within Javascript and PHP/MySQL frameworks
• Skilled with Mac-based Dreamweaver, Fireworks/Photoshop
• Self-motivated, able to juggle multiple projects at once
• Up-to-date on contemporary web design, architecture principles and techniques
• Creative ability, aesthetics, and layout
• Superior organizational skills
• Ability to give and receive feedback on your work
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, design or related discipline
• Coding experience with cms web applications

Web Designer

The Web Designer position is responsible for the design, development, creation, and maintenance of web sites, landing pages, banner ads, emails and other online projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Content updates and maintenance to web sites
• Design, production and web optimization of support files
• Work closely with the web team and marketing to ensure successful implementation and delivery of projects
• Email design, campaign set up, delivery and monitoring through email CMS
• Design & implement web page templates and landing pages
• Provide reliable and accurate time estimates for tasks
• Design & implementation of ad banners and interactive Flash presentations
• Debug and fix cross browser display issues with HTML & CSS codes
• Work on projects from conceptualization to execution while meeting all deadlines

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in web site design, graphic design or the equivalent
• 3-5 years of graphical design experience in web site design
• Strong foundation in graphics & visual/interface design
• Highly proficient in constructing hand-coded W3C-compliant HTML & CSS web layouts from Photoshop designs
• Experienced in Flash design and Actionscript
• Thorough knowledge of Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop and/or compatible tools
• Knowledge of working with a Content Management System (CMS) such as Joomla & WordPress a plus
• Experienced in designing for online direct marketing lead generation content
• Ability to create attractive and effective web site page designs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Up-to-date on contemporary web design, SEO, architecture principles and techniques
• Ability to give and receive feedback on your work
