Television personality Didiayer Snyder returns to alma mater to give Ashworth College's graduation keynote speech.
NORCROSS, Georgia – June 1, 2009 – Ashworth College today announced that author, model, TV personality, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, activist and Ashworth alumna Didiayer Snyder will be the commencement speaker at Ashworth College's graduation on August 15th.
Snyder, currently a team designer on the Emmy Award-winning Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a two-time Ashworth College graduate having received diplomas in both Ashworth's online carpentry and interior design programs. She will be presented with the College's Alumnus of the Year Award.
"Ashworth is a lifetime relationship," Snyder recently commented. "It's about networking and interacting with instructors and other students. It's about investing in and involving yourself with the school. I know that my past experience and personality has helped me in interviews. But it's my education that has gotten me the job."
"As someone who demonstrates how her education has contributed to her professional success, Didiayer Snyder is clearly a role model. We're proud to have her as an Ashworth alumna and thrilled to have her participate in this special occasion," said F. Milton Miller, Ed.D, Ashworth Vice President of Education.
Didiayer lives an active life both on and off camera. During breaks from filming, not only does she support philanthropic organizations like Habitat for Humanity, she is also a popular motivational speaker, who continually champions the importance of online education to various youth groups.
Originally from Australia, Synder the entrepreneur, has developed a line of greeting cards and several organic home cleaning products. Snyder the model has appeared in (fill in the publication or ad campaign). Snyder the activist has been a force of change for (fill in the cause). Snyder the author has written a book about (fill in the subject. With all this, some might say she's an over-achiever. But we think of her as the embodiment of the Ashworth independent spirit. Past Ashworth commencement speakers include Mike Lambert, Executive Director of the Distance Education and Training Council.
