Ashworth College supports Gwinnett Humane Society

NORCROSS, Georgia – March 20, 2009 – Ashworth College announced today that it will continue its community service endeavors by supporting the Gwinnett Humane Society.

Throughout the month of March, Ashworth College administration and staff will donate a variety of items to be used by the Humane Society – ranging from pet food and cleaning supplies to office supplies.

"The economy is tough on everyone, particularly for not-for-profit organizations like the Gwinnett Humane Society," said Melissa Maddox, Business Services Manager. "Sadly animal shelters across the country are overflowing due to job losses and home foreclosures. Many families can no longer care for their pets. The Ashworth College staff is extremely excited to do what we can to help."

One of Ashworth College's most popular programs is Veterinary Assisting making the issue of animal care personal to many of Ashworth's instructors and staff. Ashworth also offers a range of health care, technology, and business programs.

Throughout the year, Ashworth makes a concentrated effort to support worthwhile causes to include Dress for Success Atlanta, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and March of Dimes.
