Ashworth College Gets Ready to "Make Strides" in Annual Atlanta Breast Cancer Fundraiser

NORCROSS, Georgia – October 23, 2009 – Ashworth College continues its community service endeavors through its support of the 2009 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, Saturday, October 24, 2009. The walk kicks off at Atlantic Station.

During the days leading up to the Walk, Ashworth will be seeking pledges to support Team Ashworth. This year's fundraising efforts will include a company wide bake sale.

"We're looking forward to participating in this year's walk," said Jeannie Brady, Ashworth Director of Human Resources. "It's a great opportunity to spend time with co-workers, meet new people, and give back to the community at the same time."

Throughout the year, Ashworth makes a concentrated effort to support worthwhile causes to include the Habitat for Humanity, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and March of Dimes.

About Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society's premier event to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. But it's more than just the name of a walk – it describes the amazing progress we're making together to defeat this disease. In 2008, nearly 600,000 walkers across the country joined the American Cancer Society in a united fight against breast cancer raising more than $60 million.
