Ashworth College supports Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)

NORCROSS, Georgia — August 5, 2008 — Ashworth College continues its community service endeavors through its support of the Atlanta chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and MADD's annual Walk Like MADD 5K walk, Saturday, September 20. The walk kicks off at Zoo Atlanta at 8:30 a.m.

Between September 8 and September 20, Ashworth will be seeking pledges to support Team Ashworth. Ashworth's relationship with MADD began in 2005, after loosing a valued staff member who was killed by a drunk driver.

"We're looking forward to participating in this year's walk. Having lost a co-worker and friend to drunk driving really brings this issue home and we're happy to do this in her memory," said Melissa Maddox, Business Services Manager said. "It's a great opportunity to spend time with co-workers, meet new people, and give back to the community at the same time."

Throughout the year, Ashworth makes a concentrated effort to support worthwhile causes to include the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and March of Dimes.
